11 Years of Experience

We Started in March 2013

Gdynia Maritime Dialogue was created out of a specific need. We saw too many contracts stuck in a stalemate because lawyers didn't understand how a gantry crane on the quay works. From day one, we bet on quayside practice. Over these 11 years, we've closed 124 projects directly related to port infrastructure and charters. We don't theorize about maritime law. We apply it so your ship doesn't stand at anchor for no reason for another 4 days.

Hard Charter Terms and Real Numbers

Last year we handled 47 dispute cases regarding downtime and cargo damage. Our team, consisting of 4 specialists, doesn't look for problems where there are none, but checks logs and entries in ship's journals. We know that one day of delay is often a cost of around 4,300 euros. That's why our analyses are fast. You will usually receive the first opinion on the legal situation within 6 hours of sending the documentation. Frankly, if we see that a case is hopeless, we say it straight to your face right at the start.

  • Conducted negotiations for 19 quay managers in the Tricity area.
  • Reduced average dispute settlement time for demurrages from 24 days to 9 days.
  • Currently serve 31 permanent clients, including forwarding companies and small shipowners.
  • In October 2024, we recovered 12,700 euros in unjustly charged port fees for a client.

Without Unnecessary Talk About Regulations

At Gdynia Maritime Dialogue, facts matter. We check documents from a technical perspective, not just a literary one. We use our own database of rates and port customs, which we've been building for a decade. This allows for hard discussions with the other side. If a charterer tries to stretch facts, we have a ready-made comparison from the last 3 years of work of similar terminals. (Sometimes the other party gives up after seeing our first technical report).

Contact Us for a Specific Matter

We don't waste time on meetings about nothing. If you have a contract problem or need support in port negotiations, write to Marek Wiśniewski at [email protected]. He will respond concretely. We can also arrange a 25-minute phone call to establish an action plan. Remember that in maritime law, time is not just money, it's primarily the avoidance of penalties that grow with every hour of downtime at the quay.
