Analysis in 72 Hours

Fast Review of Charter Documents

In the maritime business, time is literally money leaking overboard. If a lawyer needs two weeks to read a charter, the ship will have long since sailed to another port. Gdynia Maritime Dialogue works differently. Since 2018, we have analyzed documents in a maximum of 72 hours from receiving the PDF file. In the last quarter of 2024, we checked 39 contracts this way for shipowners and forwarders. Facts matter, so you get a specific list of flashpoints rather than descriptive maritime law theory.

Hard Charter Terms without the Fluff

We focus on what is most important for your wallet. We look at laytime and demurrage clauses, as these are where costly disputes most often occur. In October 2023, we protected one of our clients from a 3850 Euro loss. We noticed an error in a clause regarding port downtime that the other party tried to slip into the third paragraph of an annex. This is our quayside practice – we know where to look because we've seen hundreds of such documents in actual port conditions.

Concrete Remarks on Gencon and NYPE Standards

Our team consists of 4 people who are not afraid of hard discussions about money. We do not write 20-page dissertations that no one reads. You get a clear message from us: what to change, what to strike out, and what is acceptable. We work primarily on standards such as Gencon 94 or NYPE 93/2015. We also know the specific technical requirements of Gdynia and Gdansk terminals. These are not theoretical considerations, but real tools for closing safe deals. To be honest, sometimes we advise the client to simply walk away from the table if the risk is too high.

Deadlines We Stick to Rigidly

Over the last 7 years, we have handled 114 such orders. We closed each one within the promised deadline. If you send us a document on Tuesday at 10:00, you will have our opinion in your inbox by Friday at the same time at the latest. We often manage it faster, averaging 46 hours, but 72 is our iron limit. Without unnecessary talk, we move to the heart of the matter. In November 2024, we helped with a charter of a ship under the Cypriot flag, where our quick reaction allowed us to close the topic in less than two business days.

Specialization in Bulk Cargo

We don't pretend to know everything. Gdynia Maritime Dialogue specializes in bulk cargo and general cargo. If you need analysis for a complex gas carrier, we will openly say that's not our area. Thanks to this, we maintain precision in what we actually do daily. Our office at Świętojańska 45 works Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with a short break at 1:00 PM). In exceptional situations when a ship is already waiting at the roads, we can shorten the analysis time to 24 hours, but this requires prior telephone confirmation.

Our rules of cooperation are simple: you send the file, we confirm receipt, and the clock starts. You will receive feedback that will allow you to decide on signing the contract or further negotiations without stress about hidden costs. Get an analysis quote in 24h and see how we work in practice.
